What happens when school meets business? Holistic career guidance that opens up real, tangible perspectives for young people!
The REMA Group was awarded 2nd place in the “Medium-Sized Companies” (100–1000 employees) category at the nationwide SCHULEWIRTSCHAFT Award 2025. We were recognized for our commitment to practical career guidance: the bilingual exchange project between Germany and the USA, which was supported by The Halle Foundation, GAPP, the University of Cologne, and the Transatlantic Career Fellows.Practical experience is better than “just” watching!Students from St. Josef Gymnasium Rheinbach and Marienschule Euskirchen gained realistic insights into automated production processes at our site – and worked together on a bilingual project to implement a packaging robot. This allowed the participants to experience first-hand the complexity, responsibility, and precision behind modern production processes in the production halls. Our operations management and department heads supported the project work and factory tours with explanations and small interactive stations, thereby strengthening the students’ technical understanding. The constructive results of the project work were presented in October from the USA via video call by the 10 solution teams.
Career orientation works best when it can be experienced firsthand. We are proud of the joint result, because only those who experience the reality of the working world in advance and learn about its complexity can shape their own future with confidence and background knowledge.
